Posted by Patsy on August 16, 1999 at 10:20:45:Depending on how tall you want your tree to be...you purchase your styrofoam ball and pot and dowell rod accordingly.
Secure the dowell into a block of styrofoam in the pot. Cover with Spanish moss.
Place the ball on top of the dowell rod, and again cover the ball with Spanish Moss. You can cover the ball with glue first...but that's pretty messy...or you can use floral pins to hold the moss on.
Next, you place whatever greenery, flowers, fruit, or ribbon on the ball that you want. When you stick these in, they also help to hold on the Spanish Moss. (The Spanish Moss just gives you a finished background, and hides the styrofoam.)
