This is how I made my bridal headpiece and got a million compliments on it - no one knew it was hand made...
Took thick wire (from a wire hanger actually) and shaped it on my head. Then we used white satin ribbon and wrapped the entire thing. Then used pearls, white flowers, tiny silk butterflies, etc. and attached them with thin white wire and hot glue.
Simple and easy! Just give it a try and 'go with it'.
