How do I make cloth diapers?

I would appreciate any advice or actual information on how to make cloth diapers. After seeing the prices for cloth diapers out there, I was sure I could make something comparable a lot cheaper. But I don't know what the dimensions would be(newborn vs. infant, etc), what shape to do (square? hourglass), and what materials can i use? Thanks!
