: i am a beginner in quilt making. i know how to make cabin quilts, thats it. Was wondering i8f anyone could explain how, in simple terms please, to do crazy quilts. I have all these great scrps of fabric and would like to try one. My grandmother used to make them with such ease but is no longer living. also i am on a fixed income and refuse to pay 20 bucks for a book. I would really appreciate any advice. thank you sincerely, clueless
A Victorian crazy quilt uses alot of crepe material and velvet, double sided lace is used to cover some seams but not all. Most machine stitching is done in white thread so that you are able to see it. You should always arrange the material on the table before you begin to sew it. Whatch out if you use dark fabrics. It will make it harder to quilt a design on it. You could always tie it togeather. Hope it helps. I have made a total of 14 quilts so far.
