Make English muffin pizzas. Top both sides
of one muffin with tomato sauce and
part-skim mozzarella, and pop it into a
toaster oven. It's a low-calorie, low-fat,
balanced snack.
Freeze bananas and grapes, and serve
them with a squirt of light chocolate
syrup for dipping. Kids love to dip foods,
and it's a great way to get them to eat
fruit.
Make smoothies in a blender with yogurt,
milk and frozen fruit for a great source of
calcium, vitamin A, vitamin C and fiber.
Give them cherry tomatoes (kids love
them) and baby carrots with a low-fat
ranch dressing for dipping.
Slice apples and serve with one to two
tablespoons of peanut butter. The fruit
and protein combination makes a
high-energy treat.
Air pop popcorn, spray with a nonstick
cooking spray and sprinkle with either
Parmesan cheese, chili powder, garlic or
ground cinnamon.
Graham crackers and animal crackers
contain less fat and sugar than other
crackers and chips; just stick to the
