Fizzing Bath Oil Balls
1/4 c. baking soda
2 tlbs. citric acid or absorbic acid (powdered vit. C)
1 tlbs. Borax powder (for softening)
2 tlbs. powdered sugar (for binding)
2 tlbs. sweet almond oil
1 tsp. Vitamin E oil (preservative)
1/4 tsp. fragrance or essential oil
Combine dry ingredients in a bowl and stir until well blended. Drizzle in almond oil
and stir until mixture is moistened. Add Vit. E oil and fragrance and stir until well
mixed. Take teaspoon size globs of mixture and form into ball shapes with fingers.
(mixture will be VERY crumbly and fragile so do the best you can. Add a little bit
more of the vit. E. oil, I find that helps.) Place the balls on a sheet of wax paper and
leave alone for 2-3 hours. After 2-3 hrs, reshape balls. Let the balls air-dry and
harden for 10 days. Store balls in a closed container to protect from moisture. To
use, plop a ball into your bathtub in warm water.

with the following instructions:

Lip Balm/Gloss
5 to 6 Tbsp. (75 to 90 ml) sweet almond, jojoba, castor, or quality vegetable oil
1 Tbsp. (15 ml) beeswax
2 tsp. (10 ml) pure honey
10 drops essential oil of spearmint or peppermint for a sweet taste, or tea tree for treatment of
cold sores and chapped, flaky lips (optional)
1/2 tube favorite colored moisturizing lipstick (optional)
Melt together the oil and beeswax, in a small saucepan over low heat, or in a double boiler just until
wax is melted. Use the larger amount of oil if you want a thinner, glossier consistency. Remove from
heat. Add honey and blend mixture thoroughly. If you would like to add color to your gloss, add the
piece of lipstick now, while the mixture is still hot. I usually divide it into two containers; one colored
gloss and one clear gloss. Stir the mixture(s) occasionally as it cools to prevent separation. It should
have the consistency of petroleum jelly when ready. If you choose to add an essential oil to your lip
treatment, add it after the gloss has almost cooled and stir thoroughly.

Satin's Generic 'Everything' Ointment
This is one of the ointments I carry in my first aid kit at work and at the barn and is one of
the easiest to make. It is excellent for chapped lips, cold sores, cuts, scrapes, etc.
8 oz oil (use whatever you like best - I use either sesame seed or grape seed oil.)
4 oz calendula flowers (dried - use 8 oz if fresh)
4 oz comfrey root (dried - use 8 oz if fresh)
1 oz beeswax
Steep comfrey and calendula flowers in the oils on low to medium low all day - start it in the
morning and let it cook while you do everything else. Adjust your burner to keep it heated
but NOT boiling. Stir whenever you think of it. After it has spent the day "cooking", pour
through strainer to get most of the bulk herb out of the oil. Then press the bulk herbs to get
the last of the oil.
Put back on heat and add beeswax. Stir every so often until the beeswax is melted and mixed
in well. Add 1200iu of Vitamin E or 10 drops lavender essential oil - either works well as a
preservative - either is good for you. Stir to make sure it is well mixed.
Pour into jars, tins, whatever and let cool. Don't put lids on until it is cool! I put a towel over
everything to keep it clean while cooling. Once cool to the touch, put the lids on and store.
