CUPCAKES FOR KIDS

1 pkg. cake mix, any flavor
12 flat bottom ice cream cones
1 prepared icing, any flavor
Follow directions on cake mix box for baking cup cakes.
Use a muffin tin to place each ice cream cone in. Pour cake
batter into each cone, filling each cone 1/2 full. After
baking, cook and decorate with favorite icing. Top cupcakes
with colored sugars, sprinkles nuts, maraschino cherries and
tiny candies. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. These are
very easy and fun for kids to make.

KIDS MIX

1 box pretzels
1 box Cheerios
1 can peanuts
2 small bags almonds
1/2 box or 1 c. raisins
Mix and let kids dig in.

M&M COOKIES FOR KIDS

1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. water
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. M&M's plain
candies
Blend shortening and sugar. Beat in vanilla, water and
eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add to the first
mixture. Mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased
cookie sheets. Flatten. Press 3 to 5 M&M's candy into the top
of each cookie. Kids love to help with this part and may slip
a few into their pockets. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
Yield 4 dozen.

MUNCHING FOR KIDS

2 c. Bisquick
1 lb. sausage
1 c. chopped cheese (any kind)
Mix together. Roll in balls, let set 1 to 2 hours.
Bake at 350 degrees for 5 to 10 minutes.

TUNA BOATS (FOR KIDS)

1 can tuna
1 large stalk celery, diced
1 carrot, sliced julienne
style
1 can pitted medium black
olives
hot dog rolls, 1 per person
mayonnaise
Empty can of tuna into mixing bowl and break up with a
fork. Add diced celery. Add mayonnaise and mix. Amount of
mayonnaise varies with individual taste. Fill hot dog roll
with tuna and put on a plate. Put "men" (black olives) on top,
use 3 or 4. Place 2 "oars" (carrot sticks) on either side of
the olive "men". A lettuce leaf may be put under the "boat"
for the "ocean". Happy eating!

KIDS LOVE IT" CASSEROLE

1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 Tbsp. salad oil
1 (10 oz.) pkg. spinach
(frozen, chopped)
water
1 (16 oz.) can spaghetti sauce
with mushrooms
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1/2 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
1 (7 oz.) pkg. shell macaroni,
cooked
1 c. shredded sharp cheese
1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
2 eggs, well beaten
1/4 c. salad oil
Brown beef, onion and garlic in oil. Cook spinach
according to directions. Drain, reserving liquid. Add enough
water to make 1 cup liquid. Combine liquid with spaghetti
sauce, tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt and pepper; stir into
meat mixture and simmer for 10 minutes. Combine spinach with
macaroni, cheese, bread crumbs, eggs and oil. Spread in a 13 x
9 x 2-inch baking dish. Top with meat sauce. Bake at 350 degrees for
30 minutes. Before serving, let casserole stand for 10 min-
utes. Serves 8 to 10.

MORE (KIDS LOVE IT)

1 Tbsp. cooking oil
2 onions, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 buttons garlic, slivered
1 lb. ground beef, lean
1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
(2 1/2 c.)
1 tsp. chili powder
1 c. water
1 (4 oz.) can mushroom pieces
1 pkg. frozen peas, cooked
1 can whole kernel corn
1 (10 oz.) pkg. spaghetti,
cooked
Cook onion, pepper and garlic in oil until soft. Add
meat and cook until brown. Add tomatoes, chili powder and
water. Cook, covered, for 30 minutes. Then add mushrooms,
peas, corn and cooked spaghetti. Mix well. Add more season-
ing, if necessary. Fill greased casserole 1/2 full. Cover
with 1/2 cup cheese; add remaining spaghetti mixture and cover
with the remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Bake for 30 minutes at
350 degrees. This can make 2 or 3 casseroles. I cook one and freeze
the rest.

PIZZA FOR KIDS

1 pkg. English muffins
1 jar spaghetti sauce or pizza
sauce
pepperoni, sliced
Mozzarella cheese, shredded
Parmesan cheese
Separate muffins. Spoon sauce on muffins. Place
pepperoni on sauce; sprinkle shredded Mozzarella on and top
with Parmesan cheese. Place in preheated oven of 350 degrees. Bake
on cookie sheets for 15 to 20 minutes until cheese browns and
sauce is bubbly.

MEAT LOAF FOR KIDS

1 lb. hamburger meat
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1 pkg. wheat crackers
1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
onion, chopped or dried onions
cheese, sliced or grated
(optional)
Mix all ingredients together. Wrap mix in foil. Place
in covered dish. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes or until
done. Put cheese on top after done.

GET YOUR KIDS TO EAT GREEN BEANS RECIPE

1 lb. fresh green beans or 2
cans green beans
4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
24 Ritz crackers
season to taste (salt is in
crackers)
Cut green beans in bite size pieces; boil until tender.
Drain green beans and set aside. Crush crackers in a paper bag
with rolling pin or other utensil. Melt butter or margarine in
pan (can use same pan as the green beans). Put crackers in
melted butter or margarine and toss to warm on low heat. Then
add in the green beans and serve.

CELERY WAGONS

Clean celery and carrots. Cut celery into 2-inch
sticks. Cut carrots into 1/4-inch slices. Using toothpicks,
attach 4 carrot slices on celery for wheels. Fill the celery
hollow with peanut butter. Great idea for kids snack or kids
party. Very nutritional!

MONKEY BREAD

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. warm water
1 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. hot water
1/4 c. margarine
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
Mix together the sugar, warm water and yeast. In a
separate bowl, mix the hot water and margarine. Cool, then add
to the first mixture. Add egg, salt and flour. Knead until
smooth. Put in a greased bowl and let rise until double. Roll
1/4-inch thick. Cut in 2 1/2-inch diamond pieces. Dip in
melted butter. Arrange in Bundt pan and let rise until double.
Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes. Serve warm. Pieces
just pull apart! Husbands and kids love it and kids love to
help make it!

NUTRI-GRAIN CRUNCH TOP MUFFINS

1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. less 1 Tbsp. flour
1 egg, beaten
1/3 c. vegetable oil
2 1/2 c. nutri-grain cereal
(any variety)
1 1/4 c. milk
Crunch Top Mixture:
1/3 firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 c. chopped nuts
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Crunch Top Mixture: Mix together.
Muffins: Stir together flour, baking powder, salt and
1/4 cup less 1 tablespoon flour. Set aside. Combine cereal
with beaten egg, oil and milk in large mixing bowl. Let stand
3 minutes. Add flour mixture, stirring only until combined.
Pour into 12 greased muffin cups. Sprinkle with Crunch Top
Mixture. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
Note: These are great with a glass of juice for kids on
the run, who balk at breakfast. My kids love them.

KIDS` FRENCH TOAST

Beat eggs (as many as you like), add a little milk (1/4
cup), mix. Put slices of bread on your table and use your
cookie cutters to make shapes in the bread. Fry low heat,
decorate with writing tube (faces, etc.) Enjoy.
Also, you can freeze and pop in your toaster for a later
day.

TASTY HOLIDAY TREAT FOR THE KIDS
(Shape and Bake Frozen Bread Dough)

1 (1 lb.) loaf frozen bread
dough from 1 to 3 lb. pkg.,
thawed
1 large egg, lightly beaten
assorted jelly beans
ribbon (optional)
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease large cookie sheet. Cut
thawed bread dough into 6 equal pieces. Shape 2 pieces into
large flat ovals for bunny bodies; shape 2 pieces into round
balls for bunny heads. Cut remaining 2 pieces into 6 pieces
each for a total of 12; shape 4 pieces into ovals for feet, 4
into balls for front paws and remaining 4 into 2-inch long ear
shapes. Place bodies on prepared cookie sheet, spacing well
apart; attach heads, feet, paws and ears. Brush bunnies with
beaten egg; bake 20 minutes until golden. Using wide spatula,
carefully remove from cookie sheet; cool completely on wire
rack. Use jelly beans to decorate bunnies while still warm.
Press gently but firmly into surface; candies will adhere to
bread. If desired, tie ribbon around necks. Makes 2 bread
bunnies.

BANANA BREAD FOR KIDS

3 bananas, mashed (save)
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1/2 c. wheat germ
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1 c. apple juice concentrate
Mix flour, salt, soda and wheat germ (save). Melt
butter. Add eggs and apple juice to butter. Fold in flour
mixture and bananas. Bake in greased pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Serve with homemade butter.
Homemade Butter: Pour 1 tablespoon whipping cream in
baby food jar. Shake. Shake more until solid butter forms.
Spread and eat.

EASY DOUGHNUTS FOR KIDS

1 can Hungry Jack biscuits
Cut holes out of center. Deep fry about 1 minute on
each side until golden brown. Drain; dip in sugar or icing.

APPLE TOAST

2 to 4 apples, peeled, cored
and sliced
cinnamon mixed with sugar
Have the kids butter their bread. Arrange apple slices
on top. Sprinkle on cinnamon-sugar mixture. Lay bread on
cookie sheet or shallow Teflon pan. Bake at 325 degrees for about 20
minutes or until apples are soft.

"GRANOLA THAT KIDS LOVE"

5 c. oatmeal
1 c. powdered milk
1 c. wheat germ
1 c. coconut
3/4 c. loosely packed brown
sugar
1 c. oil
Mix all ingredients, except oil, thoroughly. Add oil to
coat dry ingredients evenly. Spread on cookie sheets. Bake at
300 degrees for approximately 45 minutes. Check and stir each 15
minutes, until golden brown. Yummy!
If recipe is doubled, increase brown sugar to only 1 cup
and oil to only 1 1/2 cups.

KIDS EASY PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

1 (14 oz.) can Eagle Brand
milk
3/4 c. peanut butter
2 c. biscuit baking mix
1 tsp. vanilla
granulated sugar
Blend milk and peanut butter until smooth. Add biscuit
mix and vanilla. Mix well. Shape into balls (1-inch). Roll
in sugar. Place 2-inches apart on cookie sheet, flatten with
fork. Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until lightly brown. Bake at
375 degrees.

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. quick cooking rolled
oats
1 tsp. baking soda
1 (7 oz.) bag M&M's or 1 (6
oz.) bag chocolate chips
Blend eggs, butter, both sugars, peanut butter and
vanilla until smooth; add oats, soda and M&M's or chips. Mix
well. Add flour and mix well. Drop by spoonfuls on cookie
sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

GOOF BALLS
(Kids love these to make and eat)

1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 large pkg. Kraft caramel
sq. (have kids unwrap)
1 can Eagle Brand condensed
milk
1 pkg. large marshmallows
Rice Krispies (as needed,
about 3 c.)
In microwave melt butter and caramels; add milk and
stir. Drop marshmallows, a few at a time, into mixture.
Remove from mixture and roll in Rice Krispies. Lay on wax
paper until firm. Freezes very well. Serves 40.
