Ants On A Log
bunch of celery
cream cheese
raisins
Cut the tops off the bunch of celery. Cut the very bottom off too. Pull apart the celery. Wash well under cold water. Fill each "log" with cream cheese. Put a few raisins on top. These are the "ants". Cut up the logs and serve them on a plate.
Rainbow Fruit Sticks
strawberries
blueberries
green seedless grapes
orange pieces
toothpicks
Cut the tops off the strawberries. Put the strawberries on the toothpicks. Do the same with the blueberries, grapes and orange pieces. Put the sticks on a plate. Make them look like a rainbow.
Cherry Salad
1 can cherry pie filling
1 can Eagle Brand milk
1 can crushed pineapple (juice included)
1/2 cup mini marshmallows
1 large container of whipped topping
1/4 cup coconut
1/4 cup nuts (opt.)
Mix above ingredients. Refrigerate. Best if left sit overnight in refrigerator.
Pizza Buns (microwave)
1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3/4 cup pizza sauce
1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
8 to 10 hamburger buns, sliced
Crumble ground beef into 1 1/2 qt. glass casserole. Add onion (not necessary to mix). Cover with casserole lid. Microwave on High for 4 minutes. Stir to break meat into small pieces - continue microwaving until no longer pink (1-2 minutes). Drain off juices. Stir in salt, pepper, and pizza sauce. Cover with casserole lid. Microwave on High 5 to 6 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Stir in 1/2 cup cheese. Arrange bottom halves of buns on glass plate. Spoon meat mixture onto buns. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Top with other halves of buns. Microwave on High 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until cheese just starts to melt.
Peanut Butter Fudge
4 tablespoons chunky peanut butter
4 tablespoons raisins
1 teaspoon honey
2/3 cup powdered milk
3 tablespoons water
Stir with fork. Put in a 4x4 pan. Cut into 4 pieces. Chill.
Tortilla Pizzas
1 flour tortilla
1 tablespoon tomato sauce
4-5 slices pepperoni
1 oz. mozzarella cheese, grated
any other pizza toppings
Spread tomato sauce over tortilla and sprinkle other ingredients. Place in microwave on a paper towel and heat for 55 seconds.
Double Red Salad
1/4 cup cinnamon candies
1/2 cup water
1 pkg. (3 oz.) raspberry Jell-O
1 can (16 oz.) applesauce
vanilla yogurt (opt.)
lettuce leaves (opt.)
6 cherries (opt.)
Combine the candies and water in a glass measure. Microwave on High for 4 to 5 minutes, until candies are dissolved. Carefully remove from the microwave, using potholders. Stir in the Jell-O with a wooden spoon; continue to stir until it is dissolved. Add applesauce; stir to combine. Pour into glass dish. Refrigerate several hours until Jell-O is set. To serve, cut salad into 6 squares or diamonds. If you desire, place each square on a lettuce leaf, and top with vanilla yogurt, add a cherry too!
The Super Smacker
20 marshmallows
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup chocolate chips
3 cups crisp rice cereal
additional butter
Combine marshmallows, butter and chocolate chips in a batter bowl. Microwave on High for 1 minute. The marshmallows will puff up; stir the mixture down with a wooden spoon. Microwave on high for another 20-30 seconds, until marshmallows and chocolate chips are completely melted. Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave. Add the cereal; stir with a wooden spoon until completely coated. Pour half the cereal mixture onto a square of waxed paper. Lightly butter hands; shape the mixture into a large candy-cone shape, rounded at the base and pointed at the top. Shape the remaining mixture the same way. Let the smackers dry until no longer sticky, about 20 or 30 minutes. Wrap each smacker in foil twisting at the top to resemble large candy kisses. Tie with a ribbon to decorate.
Microwave Mini Pizza
1 slice of bread
2 tablespoon mozzarella cheese, shredded
2 teaspoon pizza sauce
4 sliced olives
other pizza toppings
Put pizza sauce on bread. Put sliced olives on pizza sauce (other pizza toppings too). Then put the mozzarella cheese on top. Put in microwave for 1 minute 40 seconds.
Microwave Caramel Corn
Pop 3/4 cup popcorn and put into brown paper bag and add salt. In saucepan, put:
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white syrup
1 stick butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon salt
Boil for 2 minutes and then remove from heat and add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. Stir until foamy. Pour over popcorn and shake bag. Cook 1 1/2 minutes on High. Take out and shake. Cook 1 1/2 minutes longer on High. Spread on cookie sheet and cool.
No Bake Cookies
1 stick butter
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup milk
Boil one minute. Add 1/2 cup peanut butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Stir in 3 cups quick oatmeal. Drop by spoonfuls.
S'Mores
1 graham cracker
1/2 chocolate candy bar
marshmallow crème
butter knife
white paper towel
Break the graham cracker in half. Spread marshmallow cream on one half. Put 1/2 candy bar on the other half. Put both sides together and wrap them in a paper towel. Microwave on High for 10-15 seconds or until candy bars begins to melt.
Lemon Angel Dessert
1 pre-bought angel food cake
1 large box of instant lemon pudding
1 - 8 oz. container of whipped topping
Tear cake in "bite size" pieces and place on bottom of 9x13 dish. Mix pudding according to directions and pour over cake. Spread whipped topping over the top. Chill at least 1 hour before serving.
Easy Party Punch
1 - 2 qt. pre-sweetened cherry Kool-Aid
1 - 12 oz. container orange juice
1 to 1 1/2 quarts water
1 to 1 1/2 liter of ginger ale or 7up
Mix Kool-Aid, orange juice, and water thoroughly and chill. Add ginger ale, to taste, right before serving.
Cheese Soup
4 pkg. chicken bouillon
1 1/2 quarts water
2 1/2 cups peeled, diced potatoes
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 cup chopped celery
Cook above ingredients for 20 minutes. Add 1-20 oz. pkg. California vegetables. Cook 10 minutes. Add 2 cans cream of chicken soup and 1 pound of Velveeta cheese chunked up. Cook until cheese melts. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Jell-O Gumdrops
6 pkgs. lime Jell-O (3 ozs. each)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon grated lime peel
Put Jell-O in medium saucepan. Add 1 cup boiling water. Stir to mix. Simmer over low heat for 5 minutes. Pour into wet or Pam sprayed 8" square pan. Cool and chill until firm. With scissors, cut into 1" squares. Coat with powdered sugar.
