I just read about your problem and the recipe I use is easy.
Put your marshmellows in a big bowl with alittle butter. Microwave apprx. 1 to 2 min or until the marshmellows rise and expand. Then add rice crispies alittle at a time until you have the mixture you want. Smooth into a pan.
I have also found that if you moisten your spoon alittle the rice crispies won't stick and you can smooth easier. If you try this let me know if it works for you.
