Prickly Pear Cactus Fruit Glaze
Servings: 8 - 10
Serving size: 2 tablespoons
Preparation time: 10 minutes
· 12 ounces The Perfect Purée Prickly Pear Cactus Fruit, thawed
· 1/3 cup granulated sugar
· 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Method:
1. In a medium saucepot stir together all ingredients. Cook and stir over medium-high heat until mixture comes to a boil.
2. Reduce heat and simmer 5 to 10 minutes until glaze is of desired consistency. Remove from heat; cool.
Serving Suggestions:
Use this delicate glaze to enhance poultry, pork, or fish steaks for roasting or grilling. To convert this glaze to a sauce to serve with the meat or poultry, add the reduced juices from the meat to the sauce; adjust seasoning.
