I have done a plain cake with white icing and put black dot paw prints all over it. I then got some of the dalmation little plastic dogs and put them around on it. I took a dalmation stuffed animal and let it be the anchor for the balloons and had a bouquet with a dalmation balloon. I have also done a Blues Clues party and did cupcakes and did the blue pawprint on each cup cake so you could do the same thing with black pawprints. I like cupcakes because they are easy to serve and you don't have to have plates.
I also always try to buy or make a theme shirt for my child to wear. They love they fit right in with their theme.
I have scanned part of my Curtis' 2nd birthday memory book to give you an idea.
