Just to add something.... I have 3 external Zips and never had a problem...... until now... one at the office started Clicking while it's working.... Didn't really worry about it as it was the older Zip (2 years daily use) but it got worse and worse.
FYI ... if your ZIP is clicking ..loudly .. it is dying .. and could garble your data.
Or if the ZIP is clicking ... loudly ... it could be a bad disk. Try another .. I've had the two problems happen to me this week and they were not related. Bad luck ... I had to go and buy a new Zip. They offer in the larger stores a replacement insurance for these and I would recommend buying it.
Do a disk copy on your Zip data disks in the Iomega windows. A disk can always go bad. and the backup will be your lifesaver.
BTW ... the Find it function is when you have had Iomega catalogue your disk and then you use that function to find the file by name.
I've never used it as I have lots of directories.
Truly, I love Zip drives ... they've saved me a lot of times and floppies are not big enough.
But, they do wear out over time I guess......
