Kids Casserole
1 lb. box elbow macaroni (or any other shaped pasta if your kids prefer)Cooked to pkg. directions;
drain and put aside in casserole dish.
2 cups of one of the following: either tuna, or
cooked and cubed chicken, or cooked and cubed turkey or fully cooked and cubed ham
2 cups of one of the following: (all cooked and drained)
either peas, or carrots, or corn or just about any vegetable that your kids like
Basic white sauce:
1 cup of butter or margarine
1 cup of flour
2 cups of milk
salt to taste
Melt margarine/butter in saucepan gradually add in flour stirring constantly until smooth.
Gradually add in milk stirring constantly...once all milk is added... keep stirring over medium
heat until thickened and bubbly..add salt to taste.
Add chosen meat and chosen vegetable to casserole dish of cooked pasta
and then pour
white sauce over it...mix so everything is coated in white sauce.
You can either serve it like that or top it with crushed up ritz crackers drizzled with margarine and baked for
20 minutes in 350 degree oven. I just serve it to my kids without baking it..kids like it extra creamy..baking it
tends to dry it out.
