Southern Wassail Punch
Yield: 12 servings
- 1/2 gallon apple cider of apple juice
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 3-ounce can frozen lemonade, thawed and undiluted
- 1 3-ounce can frozen orange juice, thawed and undiluted
- 1/2 tablespoon whole cloves
- 1/2 tablespoon whole allspice
- 12 1-inch cinnamon sticks
Mix the cider, sugar, lemonade, and orange juice together in a large pot. Place the cloves and allspice in a cheesecloth bag, tie the open end tightly, and add it to the cider mixture. Cover the pot and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove and discard the spice bag. Ladle the hot punch into cups garnished with a cinnamon stick.
