Popcorn Balls
- 5 quarts of popcorn
- walnut size drop of butter
- 4 cups sugar
- 1 cups water
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
- food coloring (optional)
Prepare popcorn and separate kernals and hulls.
On Stove in saucepan mix sugar, water, salt, cream of tartar and food coloring.
Boil 5 minutes. In glass of cold water drip one drop of syrup mix from spoon. Mix is done when drop hardens in water.
When syrup is ready pour onto popcorn in big bowl. Immediately rub butter on hands and form into balls.
