I did the zigzag and it looked great! Shelby goes "that's different". lol funny four year old.
As for the crown braid. I have done it before. I simple started french braiding at the temple and worked my way all around her head. Picture a crown sitting on her head and use that as a guide as to where the braid should be. When you get all the way around to the other temple, braid to the end, make a bun and pin it. It looks awesome and for special occasions we tuck little flowers in the braids. It looks complicated, but if you can french braid, you can do it.
